Soil Permeability
Soil permeability testing - Soil conductivity report - Soil infiltration assessment
Soil Permeability
Soil permeability is a measure of how easily soil can absorb water. The soil permeability test is used to determine the K Saturated value (also known as soil conductivity) which is used to analyse:
- The flow of groundwater into an excavation
- Trench absorption rates
- Dewatering requirements
Soil permeability/conductivity testing is often required by local councils and stormwater designers to verify absorption trench designs. Larger projects will use a combination of numerical calculations and Finite Element software to model groundwater flow using the permeability K Saturated value.
