HAZMAT & ASBESTOS - SURVEY, AUDITS & testing
Hazardous Materials in the built environment
A Broadcrest Hazardous Building Material (HAZMAT) Survey / Audit investigates the potential presence of hazardous materials within a workplace, residence or structure. The survey involves site inspection and identification of potential building material contaminants, including:
- Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM)
- Synthetic Mineral Fibres (SMF)
- Lead Based Paint (LBP)
- Lead Containing Dust (LCD)
- Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)
The assessor performs a visual inspection of materials of concern to identify the presence of potentially hazardous building materials. When a potentially hazardous building material is suspected, a sample of the material is collected and sent to a NATA accredited laboratory for the required analysis. A Hazardous Building Materials register is created delineating the material of concern and its location within a building structure.
Following removal of identified Hazardous Building Materials by suitably licensed contractors, a Clearance Inspection of the remaining structure and / or the former building footprint is completed, and a Clerance Certificate may be provided
